For more information on Reiki & Energy Healing...... Imbalances in our energy can be caused from many situations occurring in our lives, such as: emotional or physical trauma, injury, negative thoughts and feelings, including fear, worry, doubt, anger, and anxiety. A destructive lifestyle and unhealthy relationships can also cause an imbalance in our energy, as well as nutritional deficiencies and toxicity. History of Reiki Reiki is believed to have begun in After a 21 day fast and meditation at the Holy Mountain of Kuriyama, Dr. Usui underwent a metaphysical experience and became empowered to heal. He called this form of healing Reiki and taught it throughout The tradition was passed through several grandmasters of Reiki and was introduced to the Western world in the mid-1970s. Since then its use has spread dramatically worldwide.
The word Reiki is made up of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."
If one's "life force energy" is low, disrupted, weakened or blocked, emotional or health problems tend to occur, and we are more likely to get sick or feel stress. If it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. If one's "life force energy" is low,
Reiki healing complements Eastern and Western medicine and everybody can benefit from it.It is beneficial to the health of women, men, children and it is also excellent to be used on animals (dogs, cats, horses) and even plants - anything with an energy field.
Western Reiki is not a religion, but rather a form of healing that works well whatever the beliefs of the recipient or practitioner. If you are Christian and have concerns because Reiki has an Eastern origin, please visit http://www.christianreiki.org/
Energy Healing
If the concept of energy healing is new to you, keep in mind that energy surrounds us - even if we're not aware of it. It is rather like the air that we breath. We only notice the air when there is a change in it - for example when a breeze picks up or if we get a whiff of perfume from someone walking by, or the change in air right before a storm. Similarly we will notice a change of energy if we start to pay attention. Think about how the energy feels different when you're at a party, compared to being in a church, or near a sleeping baby, or before a rain storm. All of this energy affects us and that same energy can be transfered to ourselves for healing purposes.
What distinguishes Reiki from many other energy healing modalities is that it is a Spiritual Healing. The Reiki practitioner is never actually doing the healing. It is not the practitioner's energy that does the healing but rather it is our Creator's love and energy flowing through the practitioner that does the healing.
Can Reiki be done over the telephone?
When healing energy or Reiki is send to another time or location, it is called Distant Reiki. Geographic distance between the Reiki practitioners’s healing session and the Reiki recipient has no effect on the quality of the healing. Just as we often pray for others who are far away, a Reiki practitioner sends God’s healing energy to another. Again, the Reiki practitioner is never actually doing the healing. It is always God’s love and energy flowing through the practitioner that does the healing.
It is understandable if you are skeptical about this of Reiki healing. Once you've had a "normal" Reiki treatment, your attitude might change and you might be open to this. Many things that we take for granted, such as wireless communication, are actually hard to fathom yet we grow to accept them.
For me personally, the main benefits of receiving a Reiki treatment were pain relief, my stress levels were reduced dramatically, and I found it helped my body to heal and repair itself.
